The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB organized a knowledge sharing session entitled “Marketing Career Dialogue” in the AIUB Multipurpose Hall on November 20, 2019, for the students of BBA program who will in the upcoming semesters decide on which major or concentration to focus their studies on. The main objectives of the session were:

  • To introduce the Department and the Faculty Team
  • To explain the academic and co-curricular activities conducted by the Department
  • To clarify the common myths and facts about the Marketing career
  • To highlight the career choices in different sectors of Marketing in both local and global markets
  • To answer the questions from students on the above-mentioned topics discussed

The session started with a short welcome note from Dr. Khondaker Sazzadul Karim, Associate Professor, and Head, Department of Marketing followed by the introduction of the Department and the Faculty Members by Ms. Tahsina Khan, Senior Assistant Professor. 

After that, Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Senior Assistant Professor, from the Department of Marketing gave an in-depth presentation on the career preparations on academic and practical activities conducted by the Department of Marketing,  along with a brief description of the different Marketing major courses. In another segment, Mr. Hamidul Islam, Senior Assistant Professor. conducted an engaging session on the clarification of some common prevailing myths about the career prospects and challenges by providing substantial facts and real-life examples. He also briefed about the specific career opportunities for Marketing graduates in different companies and business sectors.

The program then concluded with an interactive question and answer session with the students and Faculty Members on the different academic and corporate issues. Mr. Soumendra Sankar Das, Faculty Member, Ms. Yesmin Sultana, Senior Assistant Professor, and Dr. Khondaker Sazzadul Karim, Associate Professor, and Head, Department of Marketing clarified the queries raised by the students. The event was graced by the kind presence of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice President (Academics), and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, who encouraged the students to dream big and choose their major with much deliberation and rational thinking.

This knowledge sharing session was organized by the Department of Marketing, FBA with the help of the Management of the University under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice President (Academics) and Dean, FBA, Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director, MBA Program and Ms. Farheen Hassan, Director, BBA Program. The Department of Marketing would like to thank the students of the BBA Program for their enthusiastic participation in making the session fruitful.
