On July 12, 2018, a seminar titled “Taxation as a Career” was organized by the Department of Accounting to give students an opportunity to establish linkage between academic and corporate world. The seminar was arranged by Ms. Reajmin Sultana, Lecturer, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration. The main objective of this seminar was to prepare accounting major students with necessary skills and knowledge. The resource Speaker was Md. Golam Mowla ACA, Manager, Tax & Advisory Services, Rahman Rahman Huq (RRH), one of the most reputed Chartered Accountancy Firms in Bangladesh. Mr. Golam presented different angles of taxation profession like its scope, opportunities & challenges. He explained the role of taxation professionals in performing organizational function. He also shared the practical experiences towards the students about the importance of professional degrees. He also emphasized role of accounting curriculum in performing tax functions among the students. Students from different courses like Taxation and Financial Accounting made this seminar effective.
The seminar was coordinated by Mohammad Faridul Alam, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Accounting with the kind presence of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice-President (Academics) and Dean, FBA. Other faculties of Accounting department were also present in this seminar.
