The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), under the Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a guest lecture session for the core students of Operations Management, on December 3, 2019, at AIUB Campus, Annex-3 (Room-3204) at 12.30-2.00. The present-day business world demands a strong link between the corporate sector and academia. AIUB always makes a step ahead in this regard. We always tries to have the inputs from the experienced corporate professionals and to have them interact with our students in our educational program. This is part of Student Development Program. Expeditors is a global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Services of Expeditors include the consolidation or forwarding of air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, vendor consolidation, cargo insurance, time-definite transportation services, order management, warehousing and distribution, and customized logistics solutions. The speaker was Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, Manager-Business Operations Process. The speaker shared his valuable ideas on Supply Chain practices in his company, career planning, networking with professionals, having professional degrees, etc. He also shared inspiring and motivational real-life stories to encourage students. Professionals experience sharing session always provide platforms for students with the opportunities to know about the real-world practices, which they can relate to their theoretical knowledge in the classroom. In the end, the session was concluded with a Vote of Thanks to the guest speaker for his informative discussion and appreciated the students for their interactive participation. The students were enriched and delighted to gain knowledge from experienced personnel. The seminar was organized by Ms. Sadia Rahman, Ms. Nazmun Nahar & Dr. Anisa Khatun, Dept. of OSCM. The session was also attended by Ms. Farheen Hassan, Director, BBA Program and respective convener Dr. Saad Hasan, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of OSCM.
