On November 8, 2018, a seminar entitled “The Silk Road of Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Department of Accounting to give the students an opportunity to establish their career as an entrepreneur. The seminar was arranged by Ms. Sazia Afrin, Lecturer, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration. The main objective of this seminar was to introduce the potential students with the global entrepreneurial trend, opportunities and tips for surviving in the current global market. The resource Speaker was Mr. Shadman Sadab, Chief Executive Officer, Future City Summit Limited, Hong Kong SAR. He is the CEO of this Hong Kong based international development initiative with more than 3 years of hands-on experience in the Bangladeshi and international entrepreneurial ecosystem. He talked about his entrepreneurial journey from a very root level teenager to CEO of a multinational initiative with in just 3 years. He is one of the globally recognized active citizens of British Council Active Citizens Youth Leadership Training Program. He is currently working as CEO of this global initiatives which works in 16+ countries through active chapter to develop entrepreneurial ecosystem and startups. Future City Summit has worked with University of Hong Kong, ADB, Harvard GSD, National University of Singapore, African Union, TEDx community, World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community, Cyberport Hong Kong, Dongsheng Science park Beijing, Gunghou space Foshan, Launch garage Manila, Warner Music Thailand and such initiatives to foster entrepreneurship globally.
The seminar was coordinated by Mohammad Faridul Alam, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Accounting with the kind presence of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice-President (Academics) and Dean, FBA. Other faculty members of Accounting and Management departments were also present in this seminar.
