Dean’s List and Dean’s Honorable Mention Awarding Ceremony Held with Pride and Honor
The Dean’s List recognizes the students in their Spring Semester 2016-2017 performance with a CGPA 3.75 and above and no grade below 3.25 in any course, no F, no W, no UW nor no I grade in any course in previous academic record. In addition to these requirements, a student must not have disciplinary action violating AIUB policy. The criteria are apparently rigid and any qualified candidate has to go through a needle hole. Congratulations and congratulations once again to the 62 BBA students who have met these criteria. Truly deserving of this prestigious award in their academic work. The program was opened by the Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva who was also excited and overwhelmed with the excellent performance of the BBA students. He conveyed his personal appreciation and recognition to the awardees who really struggled to become an awardee. He exhort the awardees to sustain their excellent performance up to their convocation. Bring this honor especially at the time when they seek employment. They have advantage over the rest of the students not only in BBA in AIUB but in all other public and private universities in Bangladesh. Maintain the desirable attitude and behavior as a distinct mark of an AIUBian and possess additional skills in addition to what their teachers have provided them. The inspiring message of Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences also stimulated the students to continue doing their best performance. The Director of the Office of Placement and Alumni, Mr. Tareque Moudud was likewise inspiring and challenging. To complete the program were the response coming from one of the awardees and the alumni, Ms. Atiqua Farzana and Mr. Asif Rahman, respectively. Both have acknowledged the contribution of their faculty in honing and nurturing their studies, the sacrifices of their parents for the love and care, and sustainable resources. The awarding ceremony ended with joy in their heart and a sweet smile of fulfillment.
There were 65 MBA students and 4 EMBA who passed the yardstick for the Dean’s Honorable Mention. They too were proud and honored for the recognition of their excellent performance. The Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and the Director of the MBA Program Dr. Nisar Ahmed conveyed their inspiring words of wisdom. The students who delivered their responses were also full of gratitude and inspiration. They tried to recall their sacrifices and determination to achieve this award. They expressed profound thanks to their parents, faculty, management for all the encouragement and assistance they have provided in making their lives in the university rewarding. They look forward to Spring as another semester of successful journey.
