The Outreach Program of the American International University- Bangladesh aims to bring to the teachers and students of St. Joseph School in Dhaka both technical and practical teaching approaches to the teachers and build the capacities of the students in English Communication and Economics. A Team from AIUB (FASS and FBA) composed of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice President Academics and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration; Dr. ABM Ramatullah, Head, Department of Economics; Ms. Shaila Ahmed, Faculty, Department of English; Mr. Theotonius Gomes, Asst. Twenty-five teachers attended the Pedagogy training conducted by Dr. Charles and Ms. Anisa while the rest of the team members were with 80 senior students to undertake workshop on English communication skills and quizzes on both English and Economics. After the activity, the students were given orientation about AIUB and academic program offerings particularly in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Business Administration through a power point presentation. The achievements of AUIB and its quality and excellent programs were underscored during the orientation. A Certificate of Training was distributed to the students and likewise to the teachers after the Pedagogy seminar. The outreach program was very much appreciated because of the nature of the approach and the type of intervention provided to the students and teachers. This is AIUB’s way of reaching out to the educational institutions whose graduates are potential students in the university.
