The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a class room seminar with the MBA students majoring in OSCM, on November 12, 2018 at AIUB permanent campus. This is part of Student Development Program, regularly undertaken by FBA to continually increase interactions with the industry experts, professional leaders, academicians and students to partake on enrichment endeavors with practical knowledge sharing sessions.
The reputed guest speaker was Mr. Mahbub Ahmed Chowdhury, GM & Head of Collaboration Management, SCM, Robi Axiata Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a Chartered Fellow of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (FCIPS, CIPS, UK), and a Diploma and advance certificate holder on International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (IPSCM, ITC, Geneva). Mr. Chowdhury has over 22 years of extensive experiences in Supply Management profession with wide-ranging knowledge and core competencies in procurement and contract management. He also possesses an widespread experience in strategic sourcing, category management, stakeholder management, outsourcing, negotiation & dispute resolution. He is able to work across board, senior executive and management levels in the development and implementation of procurement strategies and relationship management.
The seminar was inaugurated by our Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director of MBA Program. It was very interactive session for two hours, with a lot of exchange questions and feedbacks about the strategic sourcing and procurement practices in the real world. The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Operations and Supply Chain. A certificate of appreciation and souvenirs were presented to the guest speaker, on behalf of OSCM, FBA, AIUB.
